I am a proud Asian American woman, artist and entrepreneur. I play the Guzheng, a traditional Chinese instrument that has over 2500 years of rich history. I wear the Chinese dress Qipao, a dress that brings out both the elegance and the sexiness of women, I promote Chinese culture and music through my performances, teachings and creative works. Facing the current surge of Anti-Asian and racism against Asians due to the Covid pandemic, I have a voice. I want to say to those who hate us that you are ignorant; I want to say to those who attack and hurt us that you are cowards. No matter what races we are, we are here together on the same boat – dealing with the challenges that Covid has brought us. Please stop the hate, learn the truth, and have more empathy, understanding and kindness to us. For those who support us, I want to say “Thank You!” Let’s work together to overcome the Covid pandemic. Love builds, but hate destroys! To my fellow Asians, I would like to urge you to speak out against racism and discrimination, because only when we care and when we let our voices to be heard, others will care and will start to listen. Then, changes will happen.
